Center for Basra and Arab Gulf Studies / Department of Historical Studies organized a lecture on a visual figure who played an important role in the development of education in Iraq, which is Professor Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Bassam.

The lecture delivered by Dr. Alaa Ghanem Oreibi Al-Musawi included the great efforts of Dr. Al-Bassam in setting the rules of education in Iraq and the Gulf countries, where he became the first university president in the UAE.
The lecture aims to highlight the role of Basra scholars and personalities in the educational system in Iraq. The symposium, which was moderated by Prof. Dr. Mohsen Mohsen Al-Hajjaj worked to follow the example of distinguished scholars who made great efforts to build the individual, family and society throughout history
