The Department of Linguistic and Literary Studies at the Center for Basra and Arab Gulf Studies, in cooperation with the College of Arts - Department of Arabic Language at the University of Basra, organized a scientific symposium entitled (Contemporary Readings in the Manifestations of the Mahdist Truth) in the conference hall of the center, with the participation of a group of professors.
The symposium aims to shed light on the most important Islamic and literary studies that dealt with the issue of Al-Mahdi.
The symposium, which was chaired by Dr. Khaled Sakban Hassan, included several lectures, in which Prof. Dr. Ingers To'ma Youssef spoke about natural phenomena and their impact on the manifestations of the Mahdist scene. Prof. Dr. Dhamir Lafta Hussein referred to the global dimensions in the personality of Imam Mahdi, and Assistant Professor Dr. Abbas Abdulaziz Sayhoud focused on Concerning the symbolism of the Qur’anic discourse in the manifestations of Mahdism’s truth, the symposium recommended a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: Concerting efforts in the Islamic and literary circles to advance the cause of Mahdism in order to advance the social reality towards a prosperous future.
