Basra and Arab Gulf Studies Centre organised a seminar under the title “ AlKalil bin Ahmed Al-Farahid: is he Basri or Omani?

The seminar is presented by Asst Prof Dr. Murad Hamid Abdullah aims at finding out the truth about the allegations that Al-Khalil bin Ahmed Al-Farahidi is Omani and not From Basrah, and this is what some modern sources adopt.

The study reviewed the most important opinions to the origins of the Arab world  Al-Farahidi, about his birth and upbringinging in Amman or Basra. In this study, it relied on the most important biographies and translations of the Arabic flags.

The study dealt with refuting the claims of some modern sources about the reaction of the world of Arabic bin Ahmed Al-Farahidi . The study concluded that there is not any signs or evidence deals with nationality of al Farahidi as Oman rather than his tribal belonging otherwise all the other evidence ensured his Badri nationality
